Compressor Mechanic
 
Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Required: CAT certified mechanic with specific experience on natural gas driven 3500 and 3600 series Engines.
· Service and provide preventive/corrective field mechanical service on Centrifugal/Reciprocating compressors. Ability to perform field overhauls ensuring proper alignment with the use of dial indicators or laser alignment tool, balancing & set/note tolerances per OEM specifications.
· Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical problems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings.
. Ability to perform engine swings and top ends on natural gas engines in a field setting.
. Ability to perform quad O overhauls as well as major overhauls in the field.
. Ability to perform basic maintenance and PM's on natural gas engines and compressors in the field.
. Provide necessary tools to complete work in the field.
. Good driving record.
. The ability to pass a pre-employment drug/ alcohol screening as well as random drug and alcohol screening.
· Ability to maintain and follow safety operations and procedures.
. The ability to work remotely and stay out of town when necessary. 
 
Experience:
  • compression / natural gas engine: 4 years
  • 3300, 3500, and 3600 Caterpillar experience
  • Waukesha 7042, 7044, 5790, and 5794 experience
  • Ariel compressor experience
Work Location: Permian Basin
