Job Description

Client in Midland, TX is seeking a :
Front End Loader Operator
 
 
POSITION BRIEF: Individual reports to the Yard Manager 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Oversee rack crew consisting of two roustabouts or one roustabout and a truck driver.
 
  • Operating the front-end loader with forks is required.
 
  • Loads and unloads all trucks/railcars entering the yard.
 
  • Performs rack moves in the yard.
 
  • Verifies that all pipes are properly identified, handled, racked, counted and tallied (when  required).
 
  • Verifies general condition of all pipes received (i.e., proper loading, evidence of shipping damage, outward appearance or coating) and notes any problems found on the work order and informs the office personnel of the findings.
 
  • Responsible for daily upkeep and maintenance of assigned front-end loader with forks.
 
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the yard truck assigned to the crew.
 
  • Responsible for the checking out and return of all equipment and materials needed to perform a job from the warehouse.
 
  • Subject to on-call rotation for weekend and after regular hours loadout/receiving/rack moves of pipe as required by our customers.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Required:     Preferred:
 
Valid Texas Driver’s License   Experience operating a hydro hand
 
1 - 2 years forklift experience   Previous supervisory experience
 
Knowledge of hydraulic lift machines  High School Diploma or equivalent
 
Previous pipe yard experience
 
Good communication skills
 
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
Outside environment
Work with pipe dope, solvents, etc.
