Midland Client is looking for an Animal Care Specialist
Maintains the animal shelter and grounds
Providing quality care for the animals in our custody
Maintains the sanitation of kennel areas
Taking care of all dogs and cat and wildlife areas when needed
Assist with sick animals as needed
Good communication with off staff through a 2-way radio
Help visitors with adoptions and owner surrenders
Provide fresh food and water for each animal.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Employees may be exposed to seasonal temperatures while maintaining kennels and grounds, chemicals, mild acids, detergents, and noise. Ability to lift bags of materials such as dog food or animals regularly.
Required Qualifications
Employees communicate with other employees in the work group and may respond to questions from the public regarding services or animals that may be in the kennel.
Ability to deal with the public and provide humane care for the animals. Ability to follow both written and oral instructions is also necessary
High school diploma or equivalent
