Client in Midland, Tx is seeking a
Light Technician
Scope of Work:
This position reports to the Garage Manager. Will maintain and repair automobiles and trucks.
Essential Job Descriptions:
- Determines the appropriateness of off-site repairs such as oil and filter changes, tires and mufflers, front end alignments and engine replacements, body work and upholstery repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and trailers for state stickers
- Determines readiness and fitness of new vehicles; installs special equipment.
- Employees must provide their own hand tools such as sockets, wrenches, impact tools, toolbox and much more. Clients supply major equipment including power tools, computerized analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, manuals and other specifications to make repairs.
- Perform emergency repairs for various departments. (Service Calls)
- Repair and maintain all light duty trucks, cars, mowers, trailers and various special equipment.
- Repairs will include suspensions, brakes, electrical components, different engine parts, fuel pumps, hydraulic lift gates, generators, small engine repairs, engine diagnostics, ac repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repair and any repair items that are assigned by the shop manager.
- Priority repairs will be made as soon as possible to prioritize vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to properly log in to their workstation and input the through notes on the repair that were done which will also include the parts that have been charged out and installed.
- Change out different fluids and oil and filters to complete the repairs.
- Clean and maintain shop facilities, equipment tools and grounds.
- Repair all light duty emergency vehicles to include police vehicles, ambulances, and fire squad and any fire light duty SUV’s and trucks.
- Prepare used vehicles for auctions which include removing all decals lights, accessories and sirens if equipped
- Assist the heavy side when needed with light duty repairs
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Class C Driver’s License
Preferred but not required Class A CDL Driver’s License
Texas Department of Public Safety Inspector Certification required with one year of employment
