Plant Manager
Location: Odessa, TX
 
Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Odessa facility, including manufacturing, production scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, maintenance, inventory management, and personnel leadership. This role ensures efficient plant performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational reliability, and customer service within a fast-paced oilfield manufacturing and tubular services environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial manufacturing, oilfield operations, thermoplastic processing, tubular services, or related industrial production environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Direct and oversee all daily plant operations, including production, shipping, receiving, maintenance, and yard activities 
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards 
  • Monitor operational efficiency, downtime, throughput, and labor utilization 
  • Coordinate workflow between production, logistics, sales, and field service teams 
  • Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs 
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance requirements 
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture throughout the facility 
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, inspections, and incident investigations 
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and safe handling of industrial materials and equipment 
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable oilfield and manufacturing regulations 
Personnel Management
  • Supervise plant personnel, production supervisors, maintenance staff, forklift operators, and yard employees 
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate employees 
  • Manage staffing levels and scheduling to meet operational demands 
  • Hold team members accountable for productivity, attendance, safety, and quality expectations 
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment 
Quality Control
  • Ensure all products and services meet company and customer quality standards 
  • Monitor product consistency, inspections, and documentation processes 
  • Coordinate corrective actions for operational or quality deficiencies 
  • Work closely with customers and management regarding service quality and operational performance 
Maintenance & Equipment
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment, forklifts, machinery, and production systems 
  • Coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime 
  • Ensure equipment inspections and certifications remain current 
Inventory & Logistics
  • Manage inventory levels for raw materials, production supplies, and finished goods 
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and operational reporting 
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, oilfield services, tubular services, plastics manufacturing, or related operations 
  • 3+ years of supervisory or plant management experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills 
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and industrial safety programs 
  • Experience managing production schedules and operational KPIs 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oil & gas manufacturing or tubular operations 
  • Experience with thermoplastics, liners, pipe coating, or corrosion mitigation systems 
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred 
  • Knowledge of inventory control and ERP systems 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally 
  • Ability to walk the plant and yard regularly throughout the workday 
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as operational demands require
