Job Description

Well established client is seeking Shop Hand
 
Position Summary

The Shop Hand assists in the daily operations of our insulation manufacturing and distribution facility. This role supports production by operating equipment, packaging materials, loading and unloading trucks, and keeping the shop organized and running efficiently.

 
Primary Responsibilities

 
  • Assist in loading and unloading the CNC profiler with raw materials and finished products.
  • Box, label, and prepare finished insulation products for shipment.
  • Use band saws and shop tools to trim materials for pre-production.
  • Perform accurate counts and measurements of insulation pieces; good math skills are preferred.
  • Help with loading and unloading trucks for material deliveries and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including sweeping, organizing, and disposing of scrap materials.
  • Follow all shop safety policies.
  • Communicate clearly with the Shop Foreman and team members about workflow, material needs, or production issues.
  • Learn and follow company procedures for handling insulation materials and equipment safely.
 
Qualifications

 
  • Basic experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial shop environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate basic power tools and equipment safely (band saws, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Strong math and counting skills for accurate inventory and product counts.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions closely.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
 
Work Environment
 
  • Industrial shop setting with machinery and insulation materials.
  • Safety equipment (gloves, glasses, etc.) provided and required at all times.
  • Work is hands-on and may include repetitive motions, bending, and lifting.
  • The work environment is dusty!!
